For the first time in Romania, the Pike Fishing World Cup will take place in the Danube Delta, a unique reservation in Europe, where humid wild areas have still survived. The competition track will be arranged on lake HOLBINA within the touristic complex of Holbina - Trei Bibani, this ensuring the highest organizational standards for this competition.

The Pike Fishing World Cup is a competition for teams of two fishers in Best Five system- the largest five pikes - and contestants are offered boats with outboard and trolling engines. These boats are equipped with livewells having aerators that allow to keep pikes for measuring as well as special devices where captured fish can be measured in order to continuously update the Best Five list before official measuring. The contest has 3 runs of 8 hours each, and every run begins at 5 am. Arbitration is ensured by six boats with referees who will assure both a smooth run of the contest within regulations as well as fish measuring.

Karoly Bokor

I have been fishing since I was a little boy, catching predator fish was always what meant a challenge for me.Spinning fishing is what I consider the most important and most enjoyable. Fishing is my job, I work as a writer and I have been working at the biggest Hungarian fishing magazine for the past 25 years. I also work in television, I have made more than thirty independent films, and I also work for Fishing and Hunting. For more than 10 years now I’ve been doing test fishing of Rapala lures. I have also published four books about fishing. I have caught countless predator fish with spinning, my favorite is the wobbler. I’m not a competitive person, I enjoy the quiet wandering fishing more. I like traveling for the fish, I have been to several continents going after predator fish.

Fishing was missing from my childhood, I started it as an adult. I was lucky to learn from the bests, like Karoly Bokor, fishing legend in Hungary.My favorite is the top water fishing, I prefer smaller fish than the big ones.Fishing for me is a reason to be in the nature as much as possible.

Many of my friends liked fishing so my career has started. It took me long to find my favorite kind of fishing but as soon as I took part in a catfish spinning tour I knew it is my style. That was the time I met my current fishing partner, Adrián Kovács. We have been fishing together more and more frequently, with good results so we decided to take part in competitions too. During the first year we gained experience in solo competitions but from the next year we were fishing as a Team. That year we won the Hungarian spinning Championship from boat for teams, the next year we won the tournament again. This gave us the chance of competing in the first predatory fishing World Championship for teams and this came the foundation of Salmo Team Hungary. Our team finished third in the Championship but this was not the end of our success. Next year we competed in the World Championship again, finishing third again as a team and the two of us finishing 4th. We are taking part in competitions just for fun recently and we also shoot fishing films. Our greatest success was Catfish Wobbler Fishing, which proved to be the best selling fishing video in Hungary and achieving.

I have always liked fishing, and now my hobby is my job, as I run a fishing shop. I love spinning but I just take part sin competitions very rarely and just for the fishing experience. We have been fishing with Béla together for a long time. We catched a lot of capital catfishes, pikes, asps and walleyes together.
