I'm writing this in a bit of a panic because my car has suddenly got much worse and I don't know what to do. I've been ignoring a few warning signs for weeks, the occasional jolt when shifting into reverse, a hesitation when pulling away, nothing that seemed urgent at the time. But yesterday on the way home from work the gearbox started slipping badly, the revs climbed but the car barely moved, and then it slammed into gear so hard I thought something had broken. I managed to limp it home but I'm now terrified to drive it anywhere in case it gives up completely in the middle of the road. I need to get this sorted urgently because I can't be without a car, I've got work and school runs and all the usual chaos, and renting something for a week is going to hurt financially on top of whatever the repair costs. What I'm trying to find out is whether same-day Audi gearbox repair in Abu Dhabi is actually a realistic thing or just something places advertise to get you through the door and then tell you it'll take five days. I've called a couple of numbers this morning and got vague answers, one place said they'd need to see it first and couldn't promise anything, another said they could look at it but the parts might take time to order, which is exactly what I don't want to hear. I understand that a proper repair takes time and I'm not expecting miracles, but if there's somewhere that can at least diagnose it the same day and give me a realistic plan, that would be a huge relief. Has anyone here actually had emergency gearbox work done in Abu Dhabi and been able to get back on the road quickly? Was it a proper fix or just a patch to get you moving again? And did anyone try to take advantage of the fact that you were desperate, because that's my biggest fear right now. Any advice would be massively appreciated because I'm genuinely stuck and I don't want to make a bad situation worse.
